Rajan is a registered Specialist in Periodontics. He has extensive experience in private practice and working within multi-disciplinary specialist teams.
Having graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ Dental Institute, King’s College London, with a distinction in ‘The Practice of Clinical Dentistry’, he pursued a wide-ranging experience in General Dental Practice, Community Dental Services, and Hospital Services. During these years, Rajan attained membership in the Faculty of Dental Surgery. He was one of the first dentists in the UK to achieve Membership in the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Rajan completed his specialist training and four-year master’s degree in Periodontology at King’s Dental Institute, Guy’s Hospital, London. He was subsequently awarded his Membership in Periodontics at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. The Faculty of Dental Surgery later awarded him an Honorary Lectureship at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in recognition of his significant contributions to the Faculty’s educational programme. Rajan has previously taught undergraduates in a clinical setting at King’s College London and the University of Birmingham Dental Hospital. He demonstrates his commitment to postgraduate education by frequently delivering lectures and presentations at national and international conferences.
Rajan can provide a comprehensive range of advanced periodontal care and implant dentistry. His areas of particular interest are non-surgical and surgical management of periodontitis and peri-implant disease. His scope of offering surgical treatment includes periodontal surgery, periodontal regeneration, crown lengthening (both functional and aesthetic), and periodontal plastic surgery.
In addition to his clinical work, Rajan has been a Council member of the British Society of Periodontology and has served as the inaugural Chairman of the society’s Young Specialists group. In 2014, the European Federation of Periodontology, one of Europe’s largest dental organisations, selected Rajan as an Officer on the Scientific Affairs Committee.
