At the Practice, Nish provides most of the general dentistry to adults and children. He also has an interest in Digital Dentistry, helping to deliver innovative Computer Aided Designed and Manufactured (CAD-CAM) restorations. Nish has completed a year-long certificate in Cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry with Chris Orr. Nish is also certified in Digital Smile Design. Currently, Nish is undertaking a Diploma in Conscious sedation at the University of Newcastle, which will allow him to safely use additional techniques to work with and treat anxious patients.

What is involved in a general examination?

In a general examination, we will start by confirming your medical history. Once we’ve done that, we’ll have a good feel around your neck and chin just to make sure there’s no lumps or bumps. This is part of an oral cancer screening that we should be doing as routine.

We then go on and have a good look around your mouth to follow on from your oral cancer screening, just to make sure that there’s no red or white patch lesions that we should be concerned about.

Once we’ve done that, we’ll assess your oral hygiene, we’ll make sure your gums are nice and healthy. We’ll also look at your teeth to make sure there’s no signs of any decay and also assess your teeth for any wear as well.

Following that, we will do some radiographs to ensure that there’s no decay between your teeth as well.

Once we’ve collected all this information as part of your routine examination, we’ll sit you up and have a good chat to you, give you some advice on how you can improve your oral hygiene and if there’s any areas you need to concentrate on.

If you do need any treatment, we’ll spend some time discussing what treatment options you’ve got, and we’ll discuss how we can move forward in order to restore function and aesthetics.

Had a fantastic experience at the Campbell clinic. I was offered a drink on arrival which eased a twenty minute delay. But once treatment started, what would happen next and how it might affect me was fully explained to me. The team working on my implant couldn’t be more supportive. I was expecting the experience to be painful but I hardly felt anything. I was given a package with pain killers and cooling packs to help with any swelling but I’ve not had much swelling. I’m very pleased with the treatment I received and I hope the following stages go as smoothly as my Campbell Clinic visit.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting the Campbell Clinic for an initial consultation to discuss teeth restoration options with who I can only say were an Incredible team. I was greeted by Ely a Clinical Nurse who started the consultation talking me through the process and taking detailed photographs of my teeth. It was then time to meet the Dental Surgeon Dominic Smithers who got to know me and my history before carrying out a through examination and discussing potential options available to address my current dental issues. This guy really knows his stuff instilling me with great confidence that they're are options available to me my needs. Before leaving the clinic i met back up with Ely who took a full scan of my mouth and it current state of play to allow the team to deliver me a fully detailed dental plan. Very welcoming in reception…with offers of a drink. Saw Vicky who I talked previously to on the telephone who discussed various treatment options with very confident knowledge and was very friendly and put me at instant ease. Then was seen by Dom the dentist who again put me at ease which was welcomed by me who had not long had a bad experience…the dental assistant Ellie then took me for a scan…and again was lovely. I cannot fault anything about today’s experience. It was evident that the whole practice works as a team with good communication. Many thanks!

I had an appointment this evening with the dental hygienist. On arrival I was greeted warmly by Janice who made me feel welcome and relaxed. Megan the hygienist saw to me promptly and I was shown to the treatment room where I was introduced to her assistant Anna.My teeth needed a lot of work doing and I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and the manner everything was handled. I was in treatment for a whole hour and not once did I feel any discomfort which was testament to Megan’s experienced and masterful dexterous hands and Anna’s cohesive assist!I would highly recommend anyone seeking dental work to try The Campbell Clinic.
